Education is the life-long, Bible based, Christ-centered, process of leading a child to Christ, building them up in Christ, and equipping them to serve Him. The following principles guide SWA's approach to education:

  •  Parents have the primary responsibility of educating their child or children.  Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 11:18-21; Psalm 78:1-7, 7:3; Proverbs 22:6; Malachi 2:13-16; Ephesians 6:4
  •   The absolute truth of God’s Word is the foundation for the education of children. Matthew 24:35; Psalm 119
  •  Christ’s preeminence in all things must be central in educating children. Colossians 2:3, 6-10
  •   Worldview formation in the life of a child directly correlates to the belief system of the teacher.  Luke 6:40
  •  Children must be given the opportunity and guidance to discover the natural connectedness of knowledge through the lens of a biblical worldview. Romans 1:20; Psalm 19:1; Proverbs 4:5&7, 3:19, 9-10; Psalm 104:24, 136:5; Jeremiah 10:12; Romans 11:33; Luke 11:52; Colossians 2:3; I Corinthians 8:1, 13:8; Romans 1:28
  •  Education is a journey with eternity as its destination. Colossians 3:1-2; Matthew 6:19-20; II Timothy 4:6-8; Acts 20:24; Hebrews 11:13; Colossians 3:23-24
  •  All children have been created in the image of God and are due respect as image bearers.  Genesis 1:26; James 3:9; Ephesians 4:24
  •  Education is a formation of habits of mind, body, and spirit that open the doors to learning and maturity. Proverbs 22:6; Colossians 3:23
  •  The mind of a child is not a vessel to be filled with information but an organism that feasts on ideas from all of life.  Proverbs 22:6; Proverbs 4:5; Revelations 1:6; Proverbs 19:8
  •  Every child is the marvelous, one of a kind workmanship of God; their unique differences should be celebrated and cherished by guiding each student to fulfill their God given purpose in life.  Psalm 139:14; Psalm 139:13; Deuteronomy 4:32; Ephesians 2:10
